10 Principles for Groundbreaking Success!

10 Principles for Groundbreaking Success!

“The more grounded you are, the higher you can fly.”

J.R. Rim

You must have principles to guide your life that will empower you to chart your own path and to be in absolute control of the accomplishments that you can achieve!

The following 10 principles are interconnected to achieve groundbreaking success.

Know what you are aiming for and locate the target in order to achieve success in your endeavor. Start from the ground up and decide what your end game to be.

If you want to achieve financial freedom, you must set your sights with laser like focus on an exactly how much you need to earn in order to achieve that level of independence. If you desire to be in excellent health and achieve a certain level of physical condition, you will need to determine your ideal weight, how many times you are going to exercise each week and commit yourself to a nutrition program.

You must prioritize your life to coincide with what will be required for you to attain your objective. There will be sacrifice, dedication, and discipline. You must firmly connect yourself to your conviction. Know exactly what you are striving for in life and give yourself an ultimate purpose to fulfill.

To create something truly spectacular and meaningful requires that you not leave out any of the steps unless you want to start back at square one!

If you have ever watched a competitive cooking show or home improvement program, then you know how abysmal the results can be if just one of the ingredients or steps are left out. Anytime someone believes they can leapfrog over a vital step and jump ahead they typically find themselves in a predicament and have to start all over.

In your life there will either be benefits or consequences for the choices you make. Avoid the pitfall of apparent shortcuts and carefully map out every step it will take to reach your goal.

Clarify what principles you determine are important in guiding your decision-making process and be concise. You must take personal inventory in establishing your own values and determine if your current value system is representative of what you believe and what you hold to be as important.

Confirm if your values will empower or limit you from achieving your ideal life. You must decide if those values will enable you to experience life in the most meaningful way.

Create your own core set of beliefs. Decide what values you need to establish to have the most rewarding and significant life. In addition, determine what you must be willing to sacrifice to dedicate yourself to those values. This process will enable you to open your mind to the possibilities that your value system will enable you to accomplish.

Commitment. Determine your top ten lists of values in order of importance and refer to them continuously until they become inherently woven into the fabric of who you are.

The sooner you realize that you cannot be all things to all people, is the moment that you will feel the weight of the world lifted off your shoulders and you will be able to connect with your innermost self!

Being self-assured in your beliefs and convictions allow you to be comfortable in your own skin and be confident in who you are. You will find that you are not defensive because you are not overly concerned with impressing or persuading others.

The bottom line is you must block out detractors and be willing to chart your own path and most often you will find yourself in places that others have never been.

Consider anyone throughout history that has made a significant impact in the world, and that is someone that boldly took a stand for what they believed.

A great example is the first woman and first black woman to serve as COO of Starbucks.

She successfully implemented policy changes and racial bias training for employees in more than 8,000 stores. In addition, she bolstered Starbuck’s sustainability initiatives in her conviction for biodegradable products. In 2019 she became the only person of color to sit on Amazon’s board in large part because of strong convictions for her principles. Rosalind Brewer is a shining illustration of what can be accomplished when you act upon your convictions and stand firm for the principles that you believe.

YOU can successfully incorporate what Rosalind has achieved in your own life. First of all, she had strong core values and belief in herself. Secondly, she was not overly concerned with having everyone agree with her position. And lastly, she was willing to boldly step out and act on her convictions while implementing change that has positively affected countless lives.

“It is okay to think about, write down, and talk about what you want to do, but there then comes the time when you must act on your convictions”

Once you have implemented the previous principles and have become firmly grounded, the next step is to prepare yourself to take flight.

Boeing designs some of the most beautiful and efficient airplanes in all the world. They are well known in the industry for spending countless hours in doing whatever it takes to have the most superior aircraft. Upon undergoing such a laborious- tasks, they then have a product that they can be incredibly proud of. Their notion was never for that plane to end up in a museum, but rather to fly high in the sky and transport passengers around the globe.

As you commit yourself to identifying your target, mapping out every step, and bringing clarity and convictions to the values on which you confidently stand, you will take wings and fly. How exciting to think that you are going to have the opportunity to soar high above mediocrity and achieve superiority.

An eagle can fly higher than any other bird at up to 10,000 feet, but they are also the only bird that flies alone. They are inherently self-thinkers and do not fly in a flock to determine what direction they will fly. There are several parallels that you can utilize from this illustration.

First, you also must determine how high you want to fly. You can choose to live your life and settle with the status quo or, you can choose to elevate yourself higher.

Second, if you want to soar to stratospheric heights, you must be willing to break with the flock and think for yourself.

“Leaders do not seek out others approval to direct their course in life, but instead are independent and choose their own flight pattern.

The higher you wish to fly will be inner-dependent upon your ability to be confident in your abilities.

Have you ever witnessed an elementary school program that had young children looking around to see if they were mimicking their classmates? Obviously, they did not want to stick out and they most definitely did not want to make a mistake. Are you still looking over your shoulder to see if you are imitating others and not wanting to embarrass yourself? If so, try taking on a liberating and fresh start from this moment forward. Become self- assured in the fact that the only time you fail in life is when you fail to try.

“Instead of worrying about all that could go wrong, get excited about all that can go right. “

The best way to learn is to step out and spread your wings and trust that you can fly by yourself without a safety net.

You may not at first succeed every time, but you are, most importantly, demonstrating the courage to detach yourself from self-doubt which is vital to reaching your utmost potential.

You are going to have to overcome an occasional setback, but you are also gaining experience which is what you get every time you don’t get what you want.

“Make failure your teacher and not your undertaker.”

A new challenge keeps the brain kicking and the heart ticking and the only true setback in life occurs if you choose to stop your forward progress.

It is commonplace to look at a particular failure as just that, you failed. But did you really? Open your eyes to the fact that you can learn from every perceived setback, and it all comes down to perspective.

If you are open to learning each time you did not achieve the desired outcome, then you are actually gaining knowledge from every experience. With that perspective you never fail, but you simply evaluate what didn’t work and you move forward successfully with even more wisdom.

When you are firmly grounded in who you are, what you stand for, and principles that guide your life, you can take risks in life that otherwise would not be made available to you.

Your strongest position of strength occurs when you are not totally convinced of the outcome. Upon becoming confident in what grounds you, some of life’s greatest rewards will present themselves as a result of making yourself more vulnerable.

“Life’s greatest risks most often offer the greatest treasures.”

Know for certain that the deeper the roots you cultivate in living a principled centered life, will ultimately empower you to be at your strongest even when you are most vulnerable.

Wrapping It Up!

Groundbreaking success will be yours as you begin to guide your decision making by knowing your end game and not cheating the system-because shortcuts only make long delays.

Create a value system that will serve as a compass to navigate your steps, realizing that you are never going to please everyone as you block out detractors and take a stand for what you firmly believe.

Be self-assured in your abilities and harness yourself to resiliency because you are gaining invaluable experience every time you propel yourself forward.

You have now placed yourself in the most advantageous position to succeed, because you will have the strength to make yourself vulnerable when it matters most.

10 Steps to Empower You to Stand Up for Your Beliefs!

10 Steps to Empower You to Stand Up for Your Beliefs!

“Be cognizant of the power that you alone possess and become influential in your own right by voicing your conviction.”
– Trey Boyer
This is a very interesting time in our society as there is a social undertone of division that criticizes those who stand up for their beliefs and convictions. However, you are most powerful when you do not seek or need approval for what you believe!
There are 10 steps that you can take to empower yourself and give yourself a crystal-clear road map to follow in standing up your beliefs!

If you don’t stand for something, you will fall for anything.
One factor that history will teach you is that given time, history will always repeat itself. When you study the annals of civilizations before us, even dating back to Rome, you will find that societies most often self-destruct.
What do you think of when I state, “The land of the free, the home of the brave where there is abundant opportunity, freedom of speech, limited government, and a democratic society that is the leader of the free world”. Of course, I am describing the United States, but just pause for a moment and compare how we are living today compared to just a few decades ago. We as a nation have become the most obese country in the world, our national debt is at historic levels, social media platforms are censoring so called free speech, and we have started to pay other countries to remove our trash for us because of our over-indulgence. These are just a few of the societal ideals in which your belief systems can be challenged and you have the opportunity to speak up.
An absolutely brilliant story of a young woman who has definitely chosen to not simply be an observer, but she has instead chosen to become an advocate.
Greta Thunberg is from Sweden and though only 19 years of age, her voice has been heard throughout the world for years now as an environmental activist for climate change mitigation. Her activism began at the age 15 when she started spending her school days outside the Swedish Parliament to call for stronger action on climate change by holding up a sign reading School Strike for Climate. She gained notice for her youth and straightforward speaking both in public and to political leaders in assemblies where she openly criticized world leaders for their failure to take what she considered sufficient action to address the climate crisis. As a result, students have taken to her message and are holding protests around the globe to influence world leaders to begin taking strong and swift action before it is too late. Greta knows what she stands for and has become a part of the narrative to bring change.

When you begin to peel back the layers of how any movement, social reform, or different way of thinking is first born, often it is through a singular voice seeking to spark change.
What could you possibly do or say that could have an impact in other’s lives and make a difference in society at large?  A better question is, “If not you then who?”.
Picture in your mind a tiny pebble being cast out into a calm body of water. The pebble lands on the water and a ripple effect occurs that disperses the water all around it. A very similar effect occurs when you speak out and make your opinion known. It causes others to take notice and causes a disruption of sorts that demands that they take notice.
This is the power of one and you must never underestimate the influence that you alone possess.
You have been given a platform in this world that is unique only to you towards certain convictions that need to be made known.
You have been given a voice for others to hear.
You have a message inside of you that can give others their voice and the confidence to speak out.

Consider that every time you choose to remain silent for your convictions, you have in essence given up part of yourself and for what? Fear of criticism, fear of being rejected, fear of having others jeer you, or perhaps it is simply getting out of your comfort zone.
Most often the only regrets you will have in life are the times that you were given the opportunity to do something meaningful and you chose instead to sit it out and/or stay silent.
Become absolutely determined that you will not allow a moment of weakness to define you, but instead choose to garner all of your strength and step up. The sheer volume of influence that you possess can be transcendent and can have such a far-reaching effect that it cannot even be measured.
So instead of worrying about all that could go wrong, get excited about all that could go right. In the process you will win over hearts and minds, advocates and opposition, and naysayers and fans alike.

Every time you say no to something that it is not worthy of your beliefs you are in fact saying yes to something that is!
Let me give you an illustration (Which is also a personal example of standing up for my beliefs!)  You are at a sporting event and the national anthem begins to play.  You suddenly notice that there are throngs of people around you who have remained seated. Now here is where the rubber meets the road so to speak. You can either choose to fit in and say yes to this type of behavior and choose to remain seated, or you can say no and stand proudly for the men and women who have sacrificed their lives for this country and show respect for your nation.
Again-Every time you say no to something, and you stand up for what you believe, you are going to be able to say yes to something that aligns perfectly with your beliefs. At the end of each day, you must answer to yourself alone.

If there is one factor in living a successful life, know for certain that you are the ultimate decision maker in your life!
You will never be able to please all the people all of the time and that should never even be an option on the table. Block out the noise and simply be accountable to yourself. In doing so, you will take an immense amount of pressure off yourself, you will be healthier, you will rest better, and ultimately you will be happy.
Do not fall into the trap of believing that your happiness is tied to pleasing others because ultimately you must please yourself. You are the standard bearer in your life and living up to your standards is the pinnacle of achievement.
Do not be easily swayed because you do not have to be all things to all people, you simply need to be held accountable to yourself.

Take a moment and look back on a choice you made in your life that worked out to be less than stellar. More than likely, it occurred because you didn’t want to stand out and it was much easier to just give in and conform. There is not now, nor will there ever be a situation where you should base your decision on taking the easy way out.
You are smarter than you think, braver than you believe, and more successful than you have yet imagined and it all hinges on you believing in yourself and becoming a successful self-thinker.

There has never been a time throughout history where the very core of our national beliefs and customs have been challenged like they are at present.
For example, saying the pledge of allegiance to begin a school day has been a custom that several decades ago would have never been questioned until now. You must be alert and realize that you don’t have to just settle for what is happening, but instead choose to put yourself out there and voice your opinion. Based on this example, you could attend school board meetings, PTA conferences or lead a support group of parents that are willing to stand up for their children.
Realize that erosion of any kind is slow and gradual, and you must keep a vigilant eye out for change that you do not condone.

You can have the best of intentions in regard to those with whom you choose to associate, but ultimately you are going to be influenced.
There will never come a time in your life when you should let your guard down and not be aware of who you have let into your world. Just like quick-sand, a less than stellar individual will pull you down to their level.

A great example is putting on white gloves to work in your flowerbed. Your gloves are going to get dirty every time. Look at it this way, dirty gloves are expected but there is no such thing as glovied dirt.

Select wise people to be in your circle that have much to offer you and can serve to empower you as a person. The end result is that you will be enriched beyond compare because you have chosen to be wise in regard to those with whom you have chosen to associate.

It is later now than it has ever been before! Thinking that standing up for your beliefs can wait for tomorrow is not a valid argument.
Become ultra-inspired that today is the day you will break through with no excuses and no apologies for your beliefs and you will speak out. It is so important that you realize that action speaks much louder than simply thinking about what you could’ve, should’ve, or might have done or been.

First- other people are entitled to have their own opinion. That doesn’t mean that you must like it or agree with it, but just to be clear, they have that right.
Second- individuals can openly express their opinions in the United States. (for the most part) This is an incredible freedom, but with that freedom comes responsibility.
Free speech can create a healthy dialogue to openly debate different points of views, but it also has the potential to become disparaging and ugly. Do not take on the mindset that having your opinion, and voicing it, in any way must be negative. You can respectfully disagree and always walk away from an opposing conversation with your dignity and your beliefs still intact.
At the end of the day, you have the final say!

Wrapping It Up!

Know what you stand for because if you don’t stand for something you will fall for anything.
Be cognizant of the power that you alone possess and become influential in your own right by voicing your convictions.
You are going to have to own your beliefs and stand your ground in order to not become easily swayed or feel the need to conform.
You must stay alert to an ever-changing world and choose those with whom you associate wisely in order to empower and enrich your platform.
Be aware of what time it is in order to not deceive yourself by putting off until tomorrow what you could have achieved yesterday.
Know one thing for certain, you have the final say!

10 Ways to Master the Art of Perfect Timing!

10 Ways to Master the Art of Perfect Timing!

“Master the art of perfect timing and you will control the trajectory of your life!”
-Trey Boyer

It has been said that time is an illusion, but TIMING is an art.
Mastering the art of perfect timing will affect your relationships with others, elevate you to profound levels of achievement professionally, and can open doors for you that otherwise would remain closed.
The following 10 strategies will cultivate a culture of perfect timing in your life!

The art of knowing how to read people effectively is an absolute game changer.
One of the most egregious mistakes that you can make is to interrupt someone when they are speaking. It shows a complete lack of respect and there is nothing that can erode a relationship quicker than when you believe what you have to say is so important that it can’t wait.
On the other hand, when you allow someone to finish their thought, you are building a bridge that will allow for the most conducive discourse.
So, what is the best technique that I can utilize to communicate with others most effectively? One of the most efficacious means that you use to achieve rewarding outcomes is to study a person’s eyes. Take notice of how a person’s eyes tend to go from side to side when they are in a middle of a thought. It is usually only when they are finished with a thought that they will then make direct eye contact again. In addition, you can observe an individual’s facial expressions. This is an extremely valuable technique in knowing when to hold your tongue and when to express yourself.
For example, if you are wanting to have an important conversation with someone, but you notice that they appear to be completely disinterested, wait for another day. To the contrary, if they are beaming and grinning from ear to ear, that is your que to step up.

The very essence of success is interconnected with momentum!
Have you ever had one of those days where you are hitting green lights at every intersection? As you master the art of perfect timing, your life could be one green light after another.

Simply put, learn how to capture momentum, and watch your life transfer to a level few could ever dream of attaining.
Success breeds success in that the more you win, you become an unstoppable force.
Imagine Niagara Falls with a drop off of nearly 170 feet as it comes gushing straight down with incredible strength and power. When a current of water takes a determined direction, the current becomes so strong that everything in its path becomes subservient to its will.
THAT is the type of power that you can have once you begin to channel your focus!

The art of timing is your most valuable resource, so know for certain how you are spending yours.
“You can waste your money and you are only out of money. However, waste your time and you’ve lost part of your life.”
-Michael LeBoeuf
Have clearly defined objectives each day and know for certain what it is that you want to accomplish. Being objective oriented is so important because it will speak to the quality of life that you can absolutely own.
Think about this, if you saved 20 minutes a day, you would save 100 extra minutes a week. In a month’s time you could save over 6.5 hours which equates to nearly one whole workday.
Discipline yourself to be a wise consumer of how you are spending your time and focus your efforts accordingly!

QT stands for Quality Time. Be alert as to how efficient you are with your time less you miss some of life’s most advantageous opportunities.
One of the most fundamental differences between successful individuals and those who are not, resides in their ability to recognize what priorities should receive top billing. This requires an acute awareness of how to stand out without burning out. Simply put, you must incorporate a work/life balance that enables you to have proper perspective and enjoy the life you have been given.
It is imperative that you make time to have time to enjoy the most precious blessing in life or you will one day have more regrets than fond memories. For example, you don’t take a vacation to escape life, but you take a vacation to ensure that life doesn’t escape you. Therefore, be mindful of creating a balanced life that encompasses a beautiful landscape of many wonderful and impactful experiences.
In ancient Greece, they used two forms of time. The first was Chronos, which simply referred to chronological or sequential time. The second was a term they coined as Kairos, which stood for a significant moment in time. Several examples of Kairos events could be the birth of a child, graduation day, a memorable vacation, or perhaps a job promotion.
The special moments in life are the ones that you treasure, so make as many Kairos moments in your life as possible!

Life can either be all about near misses or capitalizing on life changing moments that can change your future.
If you don’t go after what you want, you will never have it, if you don’t ask the answer will always be no, and if you don’t take a step forward, you will always be in the same place.”
-Nora Roberts
This does not mean to go to Las Vegas and gamble over the weekend, but for taking calculated risks. If you are not willing to be a risk taker, you will never capture the most advantageous blessings in your life which can only be embraced by seizing opportunistic situations.

When opportunity comes knocking, you must be ready to open the door and invite it in!
Most successful individuals do not necessarily have more intelligence, experience, or talent. What they DO HAVE are very good instincts. When they see a potential opportunity, their sense of timing assures that they are the first ones through.
Great opportunities are limited, and you must seize them when they are presented!

It can be very advantageous to connect with individuals who are influential or are associated with those who are.
A key component to having great timing is in knowing what is going to happen before the rest of the world. For example, the best journalists are typically very well connected and are the first to break a big story because of their connections.
You can be one step ahead of your contemporaries by listening to voices that are in the know.

There is a story worth telling of someone who capitalized on ideal timing and who was able to use their knowledge to find their niche.
This individual was inspired to develop video telephone software after hearing Bill Gates speak at a conference in Japan. They were employed at Cisco Systems and began developing a smartphone-friendly video conferencing system. This is where the story takes an interesting turn. Their idea was rejected by Cisco management, but they were convinced that what they knew could be revolutionary to how people communicated. They chose to part ways with Cisco and started their own company to be named Zoom Video Communication. Eric Yuan took his company public in 2019 and his timing could not have been more ideal with the outbreak of the COVID epidemic. Eric’s technology made it possible for people to conduct business from their home and for educators to teach students online when schools began to close.  His net worth increased 360% overnight and people were able to successfully communicate and network across the globe. It is illustrations like this that you can use to inspire you to pair ideal timing with finding your own unique niche. Quite possibly, you could change the landscape in your field of expertise and enhance people’s quality of life by doing so.

The reality of life is that life can either happen to you or it can happen for you
Step out of the known and embrace the unknown. Realize that change can be uncomfortable, but nothing is as uncomfortable as staying where you don’t belong.
Take on the mentality that you will not play it safe, but you will instead choose to take a leap of faith for something better. Eric Yuan is a great example of someone who could have played it safe and chosen to remain with a company where he received a guaranteed paycheck with benefits.
Capitalize on your most precious resource of perfect timing to catapult you to a life of magnificence.

Procrastination is the bad habit of putting off until tomorrow what you could have achieved yesterday.
The only way to get to where you want to be is to become more determined than ever that you will not reside in what could have been, but you will embrace what is to be.
The only failures in life are the times that you failed to try. This is where the rubber meets the road, and you must discipline yourself to do the work.
You cannot change yesterday, you have no control over what tomorrow may bring, but you have absolute control over how you seize the day in front of you.
Climb every mountain, ford every stream, follow every rainbow, until you find your dream
-Sound of Music

Wrapping it up!

Master the art of perfect timing and you will control the trajectory of your life.
Proper timing will empower you to communicate with others most effectively, elevate you to profound levels of achievement professionally, and open doors for you that otherwise would remain closed.
Capture the wave of momentum and know for certain what your objectives are in order to be most time efficient.
Remain alert in how you are balancing your time between work and leisure and remember that you must take time in order to make time work for you.
Take calculated risks and welcome advantageous opportunities when they come knocking because they don’t come around every day.
Capitalize on ideal opportunities is to keep your ear to the ground.
Find your unique niche in the world while continuing to advance and know for certain that there is no time like the present!
